Unnayak Sewa Samiti started its journeywith Shri Siddhant Shankar Mohanty.
Young Siddhant escaped his own place with lot of dreams for welfare of himself
and the society. His father late Shri Sarat Chandra Mohanty was a farmer and
mother smt. Shaila Bala Mohanty is a housewife. He has one brother and two
sisters in his family. Born in Cuttack, Siddhant received his primary education
from his birth place Cuttack. While continuing his education, he finished his
graduation in the year of 1994 from the same place (Cuttack). His whole story,
from migration to establishingthe organization, is very inspiring.
Raigarh was the new zero point to start for him and he faced here all those
obstacles and problems, when a person tries to establish his existence in a
very new place and facesit. In various places he was being humiliated, faced
extreme poverty, continuous failure and many more problems etc. Somehow, he kept
continuing his struggles while contacting with the people and the idea of
‘Unnayak Sewa Samiti’ came in his mind. First, he organized a well-trained
team with him and started the journey. The desire and urge to serve the
marginalized people made his speed double. Eventually by the date of 04-04-2004,
Unnayak Sewa Samiti was being established by Siddhant Shankar Mohanty and finally
registered it on 01—07-2005. The organization began with few small projects
based on disability. These were residential special education projects for the
holistic development of mental and physical disabled kids of various age groups.
While continuing these projects, the organization started attempts in new sectors
of the society like de-addiction and got succeed also. Now the organization has
three de-addiction and rehabilitation centers in Raigarh,Raipur,Shakti and
Janjgir districts of Chhattisgarh.
Here we would like to thank to mr. Mohanty that his magnificent leadership
is taking our organization towards a new horizon.
